This course is intended to provide an in-depth introduction to the major conceptual frameworks and empirical research examining social factors influencing population health status in the world. Of major importance will be the assessment of key social pathways linking social conditions with health outcomes, measured by mortality, physical and mental health status, and health-related quality of life.
